yesterday that it is the first Bank in Utah to achieve federal compliance for
enhanced identity theft protection for its clients.

The new feature is called SecurEntry and ensures that Zions offers two-factor client
authentication a mandate passed down by the Federal Financial Institutions
Examination Council (FFIEC). According to the mandate all national banks must offer
enhanced authentication strength by the close of 2006.

Customers of SecurEntry will continue to access their accounts in the usual format
using current login ID and password. As far as the set-up of the SecurEntry, Zions
customer will select from a library of images ranging from a photo of a Labrador
puppy to a sketch of pansies and will create a corresponding caption, both known
only to the Internet Banking Client. Upon completion of the setup, users will see
their secret picture and phrase each time they log in as a means to verify that the
customer is accessing Zions Internet Banking, and not an imposter site.
